I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has subscribed to Midlife Without a Map this week. It’s great to have you here.
Being a writer is all I have ever wanted to do, so it’s wonderful to have your support. It means the world to me.
As I type, we’re on 102 subscribers, which is brilliant. A few of you even upgraded to the paid subscription, and I got emotional and cried. Not out of sadness, obviously, but happiness that you appreciate my writing enough to pay for it. It shows that you value my work and want me to continue.
It made my week. Thank you.
I launched Midlife Without a Map in September, as a place to share my most personal writing. I wanted to create a space where I had the freedom to write honestly about the highs, lows and laughs of midlife.
If you have read any of my work before, you know that I always try to find the funny side. Readers have described my stories as ‘warm, witty and wonderful.’
‘Even the sad stuff is funny,’ one of my friends said to me this week.
I’m seeing my Substack as the magazine that I always wanted to work on. I’d like it to be a busy place with personal pieces, funny stories, interviews, book reviews, and maybe some fitness and mindset pieces. It’s a chance to get my writing out into the world and experiment.
Over the past few weeks, here’s what I’ve written. Click on the links to read them.
I should have… Overcoming the ‘should’ mindset.
My forty-something changing body. And how getting back to the gym is helping me.
Saying goodbye. Why losing a pet is so painful.
You can expect a new piece from me every Sunday. If there’s anything you’d like me to write about, or just want to chat, please drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you. You can email me at liz@lizchampion.co.uk and I always reply.
It’s amazing to have you as a free subscriber but if you fancy having greater access to me, my work, discounts on my life coaching sessions, audio recordings of my work, and access to a monthly Q&A, then there’s the option to upgrade and become a paid subscriber – for the price of a coffee.
Thanks so much for your support.
Speak soon.
